The market for mobile terminals, including cellular phones and portable game consoles, has been growing. We can see that demand for hand-held terminals is very strong.Together with this trend, the advent of iPhone 3G, which can be called the pioneer of smart phones, as well as enhanced mobile usability, made us wonder whether such new products will be a factor for expanding the current market and even opening up a new market since they are equipped with a universal solution compatible with the global market.For many manufacturers, these trends appear to be great business opportunities.As the first step to get into the mobile terminal market, FenixSoft has released a new version of our communication middleware, called nine, compatible with iPhones and iPod touches for developers of applications for those products all over the world.

nine is a library with basic built-in communication functions. nine provides basic functions for communication programs such as high-speed connection management and message segmentation of TCP streams.nine is also equipped with encryption technology, which realizes secure network communication.nine allows users to concentrate on developing high-quality applications because it has the basic communication programs archived in a library.*1

nine has been used by many customers all over the world. The total number of downloads is over 350 packages in the three months since its initial release.We have extended the platform based on a release schedule in which new functions are added every six weeks and major updates are issued every three months.Now that nine is compatible with applications of iPhones and iPod touches, we hope that it will help developers from all over the world to create network applications more efficiently.To meet the needs of many developers and to make nine a universal communication engine, FenixSoft will be adding more functions and new technologies.
